The Edelrid Crux 3 bouldering mat is a huge, fat taco! It has an area of 200x110cm and 4 layers of foam, 10cm thick in total. You have all the benefits of being well-protected from any crashes or accidents on this large hingeless surface. The taco design ensures there is no fold anywhere and thus no weaker spot to avoid landing on. The main disadvantage is that it’s bulkier when folded. This certainly is not your match if you’re looking for a compact crashpad. The mat weighs 8 kilos but given its huge size that’s fairly light.
In short, this crashpad by Edelrid offers everything that’s needed to enjoy bouldering: from additional shoe carpet to robust ballistic nylon at the underside to height-adjustable padded shoulder straps and stabilizing hip belt – not forgetting indestructible aluminum buckles and straps made out of scraps of rope for this boulder mat.

Because of it’s big size you can sleep comfortably on it as well when you are out travelling for bouldering sessions.
